Prior to complete installation, in-ground piping is supplied and installed with spacer beam complete with test heads to hold piping, plumb & level and allow for leak testing. Other types of PRV stations are installed in-ground in concrete chambers and backfilled.
SURREY CAMPBELL HEIGHTS
Project Name: Surrey Campbell
Location: Surrey, BC
Engineer: Binnie & Associates
Contractor: B&B Contracting with EMCO WW# 839
• Double check-valve assembly with relief port
• Reduced pressure back-flow
• Custom above ground kiosk
Notes
A double check valve assembly with a relief port in a custom made above ground kiosk. The n-shaped design is a reduced pressure principle assembly and is ideal for new or retrofit installations in tight locations. This system is used in places when cross contamination with dangerous chemicals is a concern while the relief port manages extra pressure build and discharges when needed.
TRANSPORT WITH EASE
• Combined shipments
• Pre-packaged chambers
• Coated Spools
Notes
Multiple shipments with multiple drop-offs points are consolidated to lower freight costs. This includes a combination of chambers, manhole barrels, fabricated materials like ladders, spools, frost covers. EMCO’s regional partnerships and warehouses allow for faster delivery times. Coated spools are carefully handled, wrapped in cardboard and plastic to prevent any damage.

Notes
Calgary YYC pre-assembled pipe train in previous slide gets installed in the custom sized Precon chamber seen above.
EPOXY COATED SPOOLS
• AWWA C210 & NSF 61
• Liquid Epoxy Paint Facility
• NACE Inspection
Notes
NSF 61 (National Sanitation Foundation) certified spools and AWWA C210 (American Waterworks Association) coated pipe elbow. Coast Water Systems also has partnerships that enable supplying AWWA C213 specified materials.
SALINE CREEK
Project Name: Surrey Campbell
Location: Wood Buffalo, AB
Engineer: Associated Engineering
Contractor: EMCO WW #710 Fort McMurray
• 45º bend with 1.5m stub
• Steel transition to PVC
• M11 restraints
• AWWA C213 coating
Notes
45 degree bend spool made from carbon steel coated to AWWA and NSF standards transitions into a 1.5 m PVC stub that gets connected to system in place. The modified M11 restraints allow connection to PVC restrainers.
OTTAWA RICHMOND
Project Name: Ottawa Richmond Spools
Contractor: EMCO WW # 249 Ottawa
• 24" Stainless Steel Fabricated Spools
• ASTM A380
Notes
Fabricated stainless steel spools can be custom made to any size or shape as per specifications.
HOLMWOOD ISOLATION VALVE CHAMBER
Project Name: Holmwood Air Valve Chamber
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Engineer: City of Saskatoon
Contractor: Norwood WW # 735 Calgary
• Handle oversized chambers
• 24" - 48" coated spools
• Custom Restraints
Notes
Oversized valve chamber fabricated with A53 carbon steel fittings and coated to AWWA and NSF standards. Custom restraints fabricated to match sigma restraint harness systems.
PARKLAND TWINNING
Project Name: Parkland Air Valve Chamber
Location: Parkland Count, AB
Engineer: Associated Engineering
Contractor: MAPP Contracting
• Air release manhole
• Steel to PVC transition
• Custom restraining system
Notes
30” air release valve set up in standard sized manhole barrel is shipped to site complete only requiring a “dig up” and “tie-in” on location. Steel to PVC transition couplings (in black) tie the system to the mainline. The custom fabricated restraining system to match manufacturers restraints is demonstrated above.
MANHOLE BARRELS
• Meter, PRV or double check valve assembly in manhole barrels
Notes
Standard sized concrete manhole barrels can be customized with meters, pressure reducing valves or double check valve assembly configurations.
ABBOTSFORD PUMP STATION
Project Name: Eagle Mountain BC
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Engineer: ISL Egineering & Land Services
Contractor: Strohmaier Excavating
• Retrofit add-on to booster station
• Design and fabrication
BRAWN PUMP STATION
Project Name: Brawn Pump Station
Location: Langley, BC
Engineer: Associated Engineering
Contractor: Dual Mechanical
• 316L & 304L Stainless Steel spool fab
• Capped for provision to add pumps in the future
Notes

STRAINER IN ACTION
• Strainer maintenance
• Prevents damage
• Prevents contamination
Notes
Importance of strainer re-emphasized in this image. Strainers are used to filter out potentially hazardous dirt and debris from entering the water system. This also prevents damage to expensive valves downstream or fouling control valves, so it is recommended to check and replace screens when needed.
